Knockmoyle Lodge Seeks Senior Care Assistant in Omagh
Knockmoyle Lodge is recruiting a Senior Care Assistant in Omagh, to work with residents in our dementia care home outside the town. This is a full-time, permanent position, with competitive pay rates, and training is included.
The successful candidate will report to the nurses and nurse manager and be responsible to the home’s manager, Sharon Colhoun.
About Knockmoyle Lodge
Knockmoyle Lodge is a 35-room private care facility in the rural hinterland of Omagh, which specialises in Dementia Care. Opened in 1988, it has a distinct home-from-home feel. For example, they have a range of smaller day and visitor rooms instead of larger impersonal rooms.

About the Senior Care Assistant in Omagh Post
Knockmoyle Lodge manager, Sharon Colhoun says they are looking for someone who is ‘reliable and honest, with a sense of responsibility. “Above all, they must be able to work as part of our great team here at the home. So, we are looking for someone who can use their own initiative and has good communication skills.”
Summary of Responsibilities
- To carry out day-to-day care duties with dementia patients
- To communicate effectively between Managers and care staff, both written and verbally.
- Assist with aspects of provision of care
- To promote a friendly, homely atmosphere at all times.
- NVQ level 2 preferred but not essential
- A minimum of 12 months experience working within the caring sector
It is also part of the senior carers role to provide, oversee, supervise and monitor the daily routine of care assistants. This is to ensure that we maintain our consistent high standards of resident care. On a practical level, it is also to help organise the workload and supervise the staff.
